Celtic Treble and trophyless Rangers odds revealed as Brendan Rodgers gets clean sweep repeat nod

One trophyless season at Rangers is unacceptable to the fans. A second in succession could constitute grounds for removal.

Michael Beale was playing catch up when he was parachuted into the Ibrox hot seat last season. Ange Postecoglou was well on the way to securing the Premiership title, but the Light Blues failed to prevent the Aussie doing the same in the Viaplay Cup, and they were eliminated at the semi-final stage of the Scottish Cup. They had to watch on as the Hoops completed an eighth domestic clean sweep.

Postecoglou's departure will have offered some hope that they could snatch their share of the silverware this term. But in Brendan Rodgers, Celtic have appointed a replacement that scooped every trophy he was in the job for the last time he managed in Glasgow’s east end. And few would bet against every pot donning green and white ribbons once again come next May (Celtic green rather than Hibs).

Betfair have published their outright and trophy specials odds for the season. The Hoops are hot favourites for every prize in isolation, and punters can get 10/1 on another Treble.

Rangers are 8/5 to finish up empty handed once more. An Ibrox Treble is priced at 20/1, while they are 11/10 for the Premiership crown.

Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: “Brendan Rodgers will be hoping to emulate the success of Ange Postecoglou at Celtic next season and is 10/1 to guide his team to their second successive treble. Michael Beale is odds-on at 1/2 to pick up his first piece of silverware as Rangers manager. On the other hand, Rangers are 8/5 to fail to pick up any trophies next season, while Celtic are 4/1 to leave the upcoming campaign with nothing to show for it.”
