Celtic transfer news latest as glaring Schmeichel tease gets fans on red alert and Bernardo keeps the head down

Celtic fans took over Kasper Schmeichel's Instagram after his farewell to Anderlecht teased the big reveal they've all been waiting for - and possibly featured a sign of things to come.

The veteran keeper is set to sign for the Hoops any time now, reuniting with Brendan Rodgers in a new-look team of keepers at Parkhead. He's set to join new arrival Viljami Sinisalo, with the latest from Denmark suggesting he was on his way to link up with his new teammates in the USA on Thursday.

The No.1 shirt is vacant and waiting for him with Sinisalo donning the No.12 on his training gear. And in some final housekeeping before the move can officially be announced, the 37-year-old said farewell to Anderlecht with an emotional Instagram post. The keeper wrote: "Grateful for my time at Anderlecht – a club with incredible passion and history. I’ll always remember the memories and friendships made here."

The pic shared even showed him in a huddle with his Anderlecht teammates. Coincidence? Possibly. Grounds for wild speculation? Absolutely.

The replies were almost exclusively filled with Celtic fans rushing to welcome him to Parkhead. One wrote 'welcome to Paradise' while another said 'Waiting patiently...'

Another signing fans are waiting patiently (or not so) on is midfielder Paulo Bernardo. He got better as his loan spell last season went on and Celtic are locked in talks with Benfica to take him back permanently. But it seems the Portuguese giants are in no rush to green-light a deal.
