Celtic transfer news bulletin as James McAtee 'interest' emerges and Tommy Doyle makes it a Man City duo in focus

Celtic could go to the well once again with Manchester City as James McAtee has taken the interest of the Scottish champions.

The young English midfielder is a name previously known to Hoops fans as a swoop was floated last summer while was also linked with a loan move to Rangers. But now, according to the Mail Online , Pep Guardiola faces a decision over the 20-year-old's future. McAtee had a standout season at Sheffield United last campaign but clubs around Europe and in England are circling around the prospect, with the report suggesting some are pursuing a loan deal, while others want to seek a permanent option. City are said to be 'reluctant' to let him leave.

Celtic have been named alongside Premier League Wolves and Brighton, while Real Sociedad and Southampton are also credited with interest in the youngster. McAtee impressed in pre-season scoring against Bayern Munich, and the Hoops have a history of delving in to the Etihad's young ranks to find talent, shown by the previous recruitment of Patrick Roberts, Olivier Ntcham and Jeremie Frimpong to name but a few.

And Brendan Rodgers may be eyeing another City talent with Tommy Doyle linked with the Scottish champions. Another midfielder, 21, he is a hot prospect of Guardiola's academy and has flirted with first team appearances. Doyle too spent last season on loan with the Blades, with Wolves also said to be in the market for Englishman.
