Celtic take on Man City during USA tour as second friendly against Premier League rivals announced

Celtic will face Manchester City as part of their USA summer tour.

The Hoops confirmed on Monday night that they would be facing Chelsea in one of their three games Stateside and now the English Premier League champions join the list as Brendan Rodgers and his troops get ready to square-off against Pep Guardiola'ssuperstars. DC United are the final team confirmed to face the Scottish champions in a blockbuster pre-season trip.

Celtic's clash with City will take place on July 23 at the Kenan Stadium, Chapel Hill and it will be the first meeting of the sides since going head to head in the Champions League back in 2026. The showdown with Chelsea is four days later on July 27 at the iconic Notre Dame Stadium in the city of South Bend in the farewell match of the trip to the USA.

The opening game of the tour will be against DC United at Audi Field on July 20 in Washington. On facing the MLS side, skipper Callum McGregor said: “We are delighted to be visiting Washington to meet D.C. United and we are sure the match will be another great sporting occasion.

"Celtic has enjoyed a number of great visits to the United States previously to play both European and MLS teams and I am sure this summer we will enjoy another successful visit. We are really grateful to have such a strong fanbase in the States and it is great that these matches will give our fans a chance to see us in action again.”

Cameron Carter-Vickers added: "Everyone at Celtic is really looking forward to our summer visit to the U.S. and of course myself as a U.S. national player, I can't wait.
