Celtic superfan breaks rank to fight for Rangers justice but Ibrox transfer fury explodes on spiteful Hotline

Hearts have opened talks with their top scorer Lawrence Shankland over a bumper new contract but Rangers fans believe their club have missed a trick by not trying to sign the Scotland international.

The Ibrox side have only brought in Fabio Silva on-loan from Wolves and that has left question marks over the finances they have to strengthen this month. The feeling is that Jambos star Shankland could give Rangers more of a cutting edge as they look to chase down Celtic. Some feel it will leave Rangers boss Philippe Clement with an even bigger challenge on his hands for a title push in the second half of the season.

Gordon Blackwell, Glasgow, said: “It is ridiculous that Rangers might need to sell before buying. Lawrence Shankland should have been signed weeks ago, as he will soon be cup tied. The board has let Philippe down big time. What happened to the millions banked by the Europa League run and big money transfers?"
