Celtic starlet tipped to impress Brendan Rodgers and will be oven ready for Champions League assault

Bosun Lawal has been hailed for his 'real presence' on the pitch and why he will be ahead of the curve for Celtic pre-season.

Brendan Rodgers is set to welcome back the youngster for the summer preparations ahead of the new Scottish Premiership campaign and bid to make a stamp on the Champions League. The Ireland Under-21 cap is part of John O'Shea's full squad as they prepare to face off against Scotland's Euro 2024 group rivals Hungary. The 21-year-old was pushed into the midfield area by Fleetwood Town during his loan spell and his performances earned rave reviews as he looks to win his maiden international honours.

His Ireland U21 boss Jim Crawford has talked up all his main qualities and that has left him intrigued as to what the future holds for him at Celtic this summer. He reckons Rodgers will be very keen on the key attributes of his game and reckons being part of the June Ireland camp will give him a head start on his Hoops colleagues in terms of fitness when they report back to Lennoxtown.

He told the Irish Daily Star: "Bosun has a real presence on the pitch, whether it's centre-back or midfield. I've seen him playing so many times for Fleetwood now in midfield. He's been excellent, he really has that presence. Playing in midfield for Fleetwood compared to international football, it's totally different. It's far more tactical at international level and I think he'll adapt to that because he's a quick learner.
