Celtic player ratings as Jota brilliant and Cameron Carter-Vickers a rock in frustrating Shakhtar draw

A draw on the road in the Champions League can never be considered a bad result yet there was real frustration for Celtic that they aren't returning with more than just a single point from their endeavours in Warsaw after dominating Shakhtar Donetsk for large spells.

Reo Hatate's deflected strike got Ange Postecoglou's men off to a flyer but they were pegged back and old Bhoy Marian Shved had a goal ruled out against his former club as the Ukrainians had a good spell in the second half of the first 45 minutes.

But Celtic came back out after the restart and had the upperhand but just couldn't find that breakthrough as they spurned some glorious chances. Here's how the champions rated.

Joe Hart

Not much he could have done with the brilliant leveller. Had surprisingly little to do for a Champions League clash apart from a couple of saves he made look easy. 7

Josip Juranovic

Back on his old Legia stomping ground and looked right at home. Raking ball was crucial to set up the early goal bathed his work cut out up against lethal Mudryk. 8

Cameron Carter-Vickers

Strolled it for half an hour but then had to dig in when Shakhtar got their act together. Was a rock when the pressure was turned up. 7

Moritz Jenz

Denied a second goal at one end and then helping fish the ball out of the net at the other. The big defender was rash on occasion but slick on the ball. 7

Greg Taylor

Handed a tough task charging up the left flank while having to swivel back on the counters but enjoyed a decent tussle with Brazilian namesake Lucas Taylor. 7

Callum McGregor

The skipper is having to play out of his skin at this level with the way his side attacks but he’s rising to the challenge. Couple of loose ones but in general was in total control. 7
