'Celtic make things happen, Rangers hope things happen' Kris Boyd goes nuclear in rant for the ages

Kris Boyd has hammered Rangers in a rant for the ages as he told his old club: 'Celtic make things happen, Rangers hope things happen'.

The Ibrox hero was part of the Sky Sports studio team as they ran the rule over the first derby of the season at Parkhead. It was an all too familiar story for Philippe Clement's men as they lost out 3-0 in Glasgow's east end in a dominant home display. Daizen Maeda, Kyogo Furuhashi and a Callum McGregor stunner settled this one as the Belgian still seeks a first triumph over Brendan Rodgers.

It all became too much for pundit Boyd at full-time as he went all in on his old side. He branded the performance 'absolutely embarrassing' while he made comparisons to today's XI appearing like Pedro Caixinha's former side. His full-on nuclear tirade followed up his half-time assessment of the performance where he billed the contest as "men against boys", accusing them of a "total capitulation" and declared the gap between the city rivals at this time as huge.

He told Sky Sports: "You don't get time in football. You think Rangers fans are sitting at home absolutely delighted watching Celtic celebrate in front of the TV watching their teams performance there? It is embarrassing. Embarrassing.

"The bookies made Celtic and Rangers the same price as they were under Pedro Caixinha when they came here. That is what they looked like. How many of that Rangers team would get in the Celtic team? None. And that is where you are trying to get to. None of them would get anywhere near it.
