Celtic: 'Immense' £10m Parkhead star eyeing Premier League football

Celtic defender Cameron Carter-Vickers has yet to make a decision on his long-term future and may prefer a move to the Premier League instead of remaining at Parkhead, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

With the central defender currently on loan from Tottenham Hotspur until the end of the campaign, there are question marks over where Carter-Vickers will be plying his trade by the time next season gets underway.

Ange Postecoglou has made no secret of the fact that he wants Carter-Vickers to remain with Celtic beyond the end of his loan agreement, with the Bhoys boss admitting he hopes qualifying for the Champions League will tempt the 24-year-old to remain at the club.

It has been revealed that chief executive Michael Nicholson has been put in charge of negotiating a deal with Tottenham.

According to the Daily Record, Celtic are edging closer to agreeing a permanent deal worth up to £10million for Carter-Vickers.

But it is not a forgone conclusion that the centre-half will remain at Parkhead as Burnley have joined Premier League rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City in pursuit of a deal.

West Ham United have also developed an interest, while Watford and Championship outfit Bournemouth have already been in contact with Tottenham ahead of potentially making a move in the summer.

However, the transfer insider believes the eight-cap United States international has yet to make a final call on where he wants to be next season.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “In terms of Carter-Vickers, the player has not made a decision yet.
