Celtic hero challenges Philippe Clement to conjure up a Rangers surprise to stop 3 wise men

Neil Lennon believes Philippe Clement must find the answers to the questions Rangers have flunked against Celtic when they lock horns again in the Scottish Cup Final.

The Ibrox side head to Hampden on a downer after limping over the finish line in the Premiership to finish eight points behind their fiercest foes. And now Clement is being tasked to think outside the box in a bid to galvanise a side that have failed to beat their biggest rivals in four games this season.

And Lennon admitted he couldn't support Graeme Souness' theory there is little to split the rivals. Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: "I would agree (Celtic are a level above Rangers). I think the gap is going to get bigger now with Celtic getting into the Champions League. I watched the games, and every game Celtic have gone ahead and, more or less been pretty comfortable in the games.

"Rangers are the ones who have got questions to answer, style of play, recruitment side of things, they ran Celtic close for a while but you always got the impression, eventually, the extra quality Celtic have would count. The form the last couple of months has been the difference between the two teams."

Lennon believes Celtic's midfield trio of Reo Hatate, Callum McGregor and Matt O'Riley is hard for Rangers to compete with, however, he has urged the 50-year-old to focus on restricting the key trio to pull off the upset.

He added: "I have watched Rangers a lot this season, I don't want to jump on the critical bandwagon because he (Clement) had a big job on his hands. To be fair, Clement will have the summer to put his own stamp on the team. He's done really well with the group of players he inherited.
