Celtic hailed for disabled fans access as Uefa-backed campaigners insist Parkhead club are 'inspiration to others'

Celtic have been hailed for their commitment to making the club’s stadium accessible for disabled fans.

AccessibAll – a UEFA-backed group who campaign for greater access and inclusivity within sport – have praised Celtic Park after a visit to Glasgow. The group hailed Scotland’s champions for their continuing efforts to enhance the matchday experience for all supporters and said they were an inspiration to others in the football community. Celtic’s Disability Access Officer Alexis Dobbin and club supporter liaison officer John Paul Taylor were among the Hoops's officials who met with Amy Wilson and Hollie Wilson from Accessiball.

A spokesperson for AccessibAll said: “Celtic’s efforts not only set a standard but also inspire other clubs to follow suit. Celtic is a club that has consistently shown unwavering dedication to supporting disabled fans. We would like to thank Celtic for inviting us to attend and for their hospitality. We also thank them for being a continued supporter of AccessibAll and our works, including our annual Week of Action campaign.”

The week of action campaign is the largest annual event of its kind, working towards ensuring that disabled people can take their rightful places amongst their peers within sport - from the grassroots to the boardrooms - as spectators, players, coaches, administrators, volunteers, and decision makers.

Alexis Dobbin believes constant dialogue with fans is the key to an inclusive future.

She said: “Communication with our disabled fans is key to making sure matchdays at Celtic Park are an enjoyable, safe and inclusive experience for all. Meetings like this one are beneficial for us as a club, and also for fans to be able to hear directly from different members of club staff.
