Celtic fans unite for touching 14th minute tribute to young fan Aoibhe Byrne

Celtic fans paid a touching tribute to Irish teenager Aoibhe Byrne during their side's Premiership clash with Rangers on Sunday.

14-year-old Byrne, who was an avid follower of Ange Postecoglou 's side, tragically lost her life after an accident on Wednesday night.

And 60,000 fans showed solidarity with the teen's family with a rousing applause all around Parkhead and also revealed a banner which read, "RIP Aoibhe. #Forever14".

The tribute comes after Celtic fan Jim Greenan took to Twitter to spread the word over having an applause on the 14th minute.

He wrote: "Hi Celtic fans on Twitter, this is Aoibhe, sadly on Wednesday evening Aoibhe lost her young life in a tragic accident, she loved Celtic as does all her family, we really think it would mean a lot for her family if on the 14th min on Sunday all Celtic Park could be upstanding to commemorate her life, Aoibhe's funeral is at 11:30 on Sunday morning , when she should've been watching the bhoys. I hope this is not too much to ask and that this can happen to let Aoibhe, Gary, Olivia and kids know YNWA."

His tweet gathered thousands of likes and heart felt messages of support over a short period of time from fans across the globe.

Her school also wrote a touching tribute in her memory.

It read: "Our hearts are breaking today as we come to terms with the devastating loss of our dear student Aoibhe Byrne.

"Aoibhe was a wonderful lady, an excellent student and a key member of our sports teams.

"We are so lucky to have had you with us and we will miss you terribly. We will never forget your smiling face and kindness.

"Our sincere sympathies to Olivia, Gary, Oisín, Saoirse, Carolan and Gary Óg, her extended family and her wide circle of friends. Rest in Peace Aoibhe,
