Celtic fans spy Brendan Rodgers bargain inside club shop as boss in waiting tempts punters

Celtic fans can pick up Brendan Rodgers' autobiography for the bargain price of £2 - with the club shop making it available for 90 per cent less of the original cost.

Rodgers is set to be appointed as manager for a second time with talks well underway to replace Ange Postecoglou at Parkhead. The response from Celtic fans has been mixed after the nature of his exit to Leicester in 2019 but there is a feeling he is one of the best-placed managers to pick up where Postecoglou left off and deliver more success.

A box office announcement looms in the days ahead and most fans are sure to welcome him back even if it is tinged with a sense of caution. Up until his name emerged as a serious option last week, though, there would have been few Parkhead fans rushing to the shelves to buy merch with Rodgers' name on it. And that appetite is reflected on the Celtic shop website as the one Rodgers-emblazoned souvenir on sale - his club-sanctioned 2017 autobiography - is available for just £2.

That's down from the £20 it was previously listed for and while various items on the site have been slashed, it's one of the most dramatic price cuts in the site-wide sale. Wim Jansen's 2022 book, Mastermind, is also down from £20 to £5 along with various other discounted items.

Rodgers' autobiography first went on sale after delivering an Invincible Treble in his first season in charge and raised more than £30,000 for charity after the manager requested a donation from the club for each copy sold. The Northern Ireland Hospice and Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) received a cheque for £15,000 each after the initial run of sales.
