Celtic fans never endangered Motherwell players, but we're disappointed to lose, says boss

Motherwell boss Stuart Kettlewell says his players were never in danger of being accosted as Celtic fans streamed onto the Fir Park pitch following their last-gasp winner.

But he says it's scenes nobody wants to see.

Luis Palma looked to have earned all three points for Celtic with an 87th-minute strike, but Blair Spittal levelled in 95 minutes, with Motherwell fans spilling onto the pitch, which was replicated by parts of the away crowd moments later when Matt O'Riley earned all thee points for the champions.

That sparked scenes of fans spilling onto the surface, but Kettlewell insists it wasn't a problem.

"You're always thinking about your own players' safety when supporters are over-powering stewards and streaming onto the park. It looks a bit ugly, a bit nasty," he said.

Kettlewell says he thought his side were going to get something out of the game, but they're again left disappointed.

He said: "It was a complete whirlwind with time added on and all the rest of it, it pales into insignificance when you've been deal that sort of bitter blow that we have again today.

"It's probably as sore a defeat as I've
