Celtic face major Rangers injury sweat as 4 key starters missing from training

Celtic could face a major injury sweat ahead of Sunday's Old Firm showdown at Ibrox with FOUR key players missing from training.

The Hoops make the visit to Govan this weekend with 2,000 away fans behind them in the fixture for the first time since January 2023.

And Brendan Rodgers' newly-crowned four-in-a-row champions will be aiming to bring their two-game Glasgow derby losing streak to an abrupt halt.

Portuguese ace Jota's campaign is all but over after the £8million January signing suffered a knee injury in last week's title-clinching win at Tannadice.

But Celts could also be without top scorer Daizen Maeda, German winger Nicolas Kuhn and first-choice right-back Alistair Johnston.

The trio were all posted missing at Lennoxtown this morning as Rodgers put his troops through their paces at the club's training HQ.

Maeda, Kuhn and Johnston all featured in the 5-0 thrashing of Dundee United but it remains to be seen if they will be available for Ibrox.

Rodgers will be quizzed on their availability when he speaks to the press later today.
