Celtic claim Green Brigade members are willing to ditch ultras and reveal evidence of terrorist flags
Celtic have told the Green Brigade they'll happily cancel the season books of those who wish to give up their seats – and claimed members of the group have revealed they’re ready to walk away from the ultras.
In a lengthy address posted to the club's website, the Premiership champions have doubled down on their reasons for the ban, insisting they are safety-orientated and not due to the waving of Palestine flags. Celtic made the move to ban the vocal supporters group after hitting them with a lengthy rap sheet of incidents across this season – both home and away. They have since been banned from all fixtures starting from the 2-1 win over St Mirren.
And now, shockingly, the club have claimed they have evidence of terrorist flags inside Celtic Park amid the raging Hamas and Israel war, and stated this is also a key reason for the suspension. The Green Brigade defied club orders asking for "banners, flags and symbols relating to the conflict and those countries involved in it are not displayed at Celtic Park at this time".
They have also suggested members are still being charged for their season tickets, despite not being able to attend games. But Celtic have now responded in a "rail seating section update", ready to offer refunds to those who wish to have them and claiming some Green Brigade members have moved to distance themselves from the group.
Celtic's statement reads in entirety: "We are writing to you with an update regarding the rail seating section at Celtic Park. You may already be aware of recent communications from the club to each of the ‘Green Brigade’, season ticket holders who have registered with the ticket office as being part of the ‘Green Brigade’ supporters' club, and to all season ticket holders
