Celtic Champions League slayer Karim Adeyemi reveals bizarre secret ingredient that fuelled Dortmund destruction job

Karim Adeyemi has credited his wife's BROCCOLI as a factor in him gobbling up the goals against Celtic.

The Dortmund striker was tormentor in chief, bagging a quickfire first half hat-trick as the Bundesliga outfit ripped the Hoops apart in a devastating demolition job at Signal Iduna Park. It's the third time Brendan Rodgers has seen his side hammered for seven in the Champions League, having presided over 7-1 and 7-0 defeats to Barcelona and PSG respectively during his first spell in charge.

Adeyemi took just 31 minutes to notch his treble, putting Nuri Sahin's side back in front on 11 minutes after Emre Can and Daizen Maeda had traded early goals. He then struck either side of a Serhous Guirassy penalty to ensure he'd be taking the match ball home before the game had even reached half time. And he admitted that eating his greens was the secret to his ruthlessness in front of goal.

"Yesterday my wife made broccoli, maybe that's why," he laughed. His partner is Swiss born rapper Loredana and while the couple refer to each other as "husband" and "wife," it isn't confirmed whether the pair have actually tied the knot.

Amid a run of indifferent from last season, Adeyemi moved to shut down claims that his relationship was to blame for a lack of goals. he said: “I knew what I was getting myself into, that she was a person in the public eye, but I found it crazy that people react like that after a bad game.

"Not unfair against me because I didn’t play well. It's unfair to my girlfriend. It has nothing to do with how I play and perform on the pitch. Sometimes I find it strange how some people take the liberty of judging people they don’t know.”

In a small mercy for Celtic, the frontman was forced off during the second half
