Celtic and Rangers branded 'hypocrites' over Tynecastle ticket cuts as Hearts 'don't need' their away supports

Celtic and Rangers have been branded "hypocrites" over fan complaints about reduced allocations at Tynecastle and other away grounds.

Hearts host the Hoops this weekend and there will only be around 600 travelling fans after the Jambos cut all away supports to just one section of the Roseburn stand this season. That's with the exception of Hibs, who will continue to get the full 3,400 seats behind the goal, as they did for the 2-2 draw in Gorgie before the international break.

Many Celts have been up in arms, claiming it's unfair for the capital club to slash the number of briefs handed to them when the demand is there for them. But they, and their counterparts across the city, have been reminded of their own policies when it comes to away fans in games against each other. The ongoing ticket spat has seen the last few Old Firm derbies played in front if home fans exclusively, with safety concerns and looking after the home supporters being the reasons given for the away fan lockout.

Now Mark Wilson has called out the big two support bases for double standards when it comes to games against the other ten clubs. "Celtic and Rangers are hypocrites when it comes to this stuff, because they are the ones who are cutting each others allocations," he told Clyde Super Scoreboard.

They started it between each other, to 750, 700, to now hearing no tickets may be offered to Rangers when they come to Celtic Park because it's all about looking after your own fan base. Because you can fill stands and that's your priority.
