Ange Postecoglou sanctions Celtic and Rangers scouting mission as Aberdeen star catches eye of 'top spy' on Scotland tour

Ange Postecoglou has told one of his scouts to keep an eye on developing talent within Scotland - as Celtic fall under the Tottenham boss' watchful eye.

The Australian has shone in a bright start to life in north London, following a glittering two-year stint at the Parkhead helm. ButThe Sun claim that he could come north again to try and bolster his ranks, with "top spy" Ian Broomfield deployed to run the rule over Premiership talent.

It's believed that Postecoglou wants an "up to date dossier" on talent within the Scottish game and is happy for his scouting staff to check in on players he likes. Kyogo - who he brought to Celtic in 2021 from Vissel Kobe - is namechecked as one player Broomfield has watched. Games involving Aberdeen, Hearts and former adversaries Rangers have also had Tottenham eyes glanced over them with a Dons star catching the eye.

Slobodan Rubezic only arrived at Aberdeen in the summer but he is said to have "caught the eye". Broomfield's scouting mission lasted four days but it's not clear which games he watched. The towering defender was part of the Dons side that helped Aberdeen to a 1-0 win over Hibs in the Viaplay Cup semi-final on Saturday. While Kyogo was rested in Celtic's 3-0 win over Ross County.

There has been plenty of rumours already when it comes to some of Brendan Rodgers' men heading south. Matt O'Riley and Reo Hatate are amongst some of the stars believed to be turning English heads.
