Celtic: £2m target 'would definitely improve' Postecoglou's options at Parkhead
Celtic ‘would definitely improve’ their options at left-back if they signed Hammarby’s Mohanad Jeahze this summer, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.
The 25-year-old has reportedly been identified by manager Ange Postecoglou as someone who can come in and immediately bolster his current crop of defenders at Parkhead.
It’s been a successful season for the Hoops under their Greek-Australian tactician, who has overseen a significant overhaul of the first-team squad during his short time at the helm.
Postecoglou has brought in no fewer than 17 players on either permanent or loan deals since arriving at Celtic last summer, allowing a similar number to move in the opposite direction.
However, one area of the pitch that still appears to be vulnerable and lacking strength in depth is the left-hand side of defence.
Greg Taylor is currently the only natural option in that position after it was revealed Boli Bolingoli was spotted training alone in Belgium recently after falling out favour.
As a result, centre-back Liam Scales and right-back Josip Juranovic have been required to fill in at left-back on numerous occasions throughout 2021/22, leaving the side slightly unbalanced at times.
Despite the imminent return of teenager Adam Montgomery from his loan spell at Aberdeen, the Scottish Sun have revealed Celtic are ‘tracking’ Jeahze ahead of a potential move.
And O’Rourke believes the 25-year-old could be an upgrade on the existing options available to Postecoglou.
