CCTV shows furious customer causing carnage in bakery after demanding Easter Egg refund

This was the shocking moment a disgruntled customer caused carnage in a bakery after demanding a refund for Easter eggs she forgot to pick up. Jayne Harrison was on the till at Little Blonde Bakes, in Bury, when the woman phoned to call for her money back yesterday (April 13).

Jayne said the customer was being 'rude' on the phone and she would not continue the call but would be happy to speak to her face-to-face in her shop, on Sunnybank Road. But after being asked to leave the premises, the woman charged at the counter, causing hundreds of pounds worth of damage while cakes on display had to be thrown out.

"It was awful," Jayne, 60, told the Manchester Evening News. "I just can't understand people that expect their money back because they don't remember to turn up.

"It's not my responsibility to remind people to turn up, we can't ring everybody to remind them. We would have to employ someone else to do that job and then everything would go up in price.

"I think if you order Easter eggs for your children, you don't forget that. It was just horrendous, it was horrible, and we have so many lovely customers - I've never come across something like this before."

The customer had previously called to put in an order for six cheesecake-filled Easter eggs to pick up on Saturday, April 8, but forgot to pick it up, Jayne said. She told Jayne she had tried to call later on Saturday, but the shop had closed after a busy day of customers picking up their Easter orders.

Little Blonde Bakes reopened on Tuesday, but the customer first called for a refund yesterday, and Jayne says the woman was 'rude' on the phone. She said: "I said 'you can't get a refund for that'.
