Casemiro, Varane, Reguilon, Martinez - Manchester United injury news and return dates

Manchester United still have mounting injury problems to contend with as Erik ten Hag and his players prepare to resume their Premier League charge after the international break.

Casemiro (ankle) became the latest player to pick up an injury while on Brazil duty. United are currently waiting to discover the extent of the problem after the midfielder missed training with his country over the weekend.

Lisandro Martinez, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Tyrell Malacia will miss that game, while United are still waiting on Luke Shaw, Raphael Varane and Sergio Reguilon to recover from their respective issues. Here is our latest injury round-up from Carrington and possible return dates.

Casemiro

Injury: Ankle

Possible return date: Currently unknown

What [Brazil manager] Fernando Diniz has said: "As there was a stop, I decided to make all three substitutions. We had a lot of control when they came on. Casemiro asked to come off due to a blow to his ankle."

Raphael Varane

Injury: Unspecified

Possible return date: October 21 vs Sheffield United

What Ten Hag has said: "He [Varane] couldn't make the [Brentford] game as he had a minor issue. If it was two or three days later, he could have made it, but now it was too short."

Lisandro Martinez

Injury: Foot

Return date: December 2023/January 2024

What Ten Hag has said: "He has to go through the same process and I'm really sorry for him. The squad will miss him. As you know, we have more injuries, so we always have to deal with it as a squad. As a club, we have to deal with injuries. He has to be strong. He will fight back, I'm sure. He's a character."
