Casemiro’s highlights from UCL final v Liverpool are now going viral and they're absolutely immense

Last Saturday evening, Real Madrid were crowned champions of Europe for an astonishing 14th time.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side defeated Liverpool 1-0 in Paris, Vinicius Junior netting the only goal of the game in the second half.

It’s the eighth time Real Madrid have won the Champions League since it was rebranded back in 1992/93 and the fifth occasion that they’ve lifted the coveted trophy in the last eight years.

The team’s latest triumph was one of their toughest ever, though. They had to get past Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool, four of the very best sides on the planet.

Real Madrid also had to come from behind in every knockout round barring the final.

And against Liverpool in the 2021/22 Champions League’s finale, Los Blancos were made to work incredibly hard for their victory, with Thibaut Courtois forced into performing some heroics between the sticks.

The Belgian was deservedly named Man of the Match, although that individual accolade could certainly have gone to Casemiro instead.

In what was a tense, nervy game at the Stade de France, the Brazilian was absolutely exceptional in the middle of the park.

Liverpool rarely got past Real Madrid’s defensive screen and Casemiro also helped kickstart attacks from deep.

It’s taken a while for the former FC Porto man’s highlights from the match to crop up on social media, but they finally have – and naturally, they’ve gone viral.
