Aston Villa midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka insists he is determined to reach "the very top" and will do everything he can to fulfil his scary potential.

From being named 'the best 16-year-old in England' to becoming the third youngest Villa debutant in the Premier League era, Chukwuemeka has the world at his feet. His latest performances for England Under-19s have once again justified the hype surrounding the teenager as Ian Foster's young Three Lions team have breezed into the Under-19 European Championship semi-finals.

Chukwuemeka has contributed to four of England's six goals in the tournament, and has netted two of his own - with all due respect to his opponents, he's a level above. Villa chiefs will be watching his displays closely, knowing he is yet to commit his future to the club, but the situation is more complex than what it might seem from the outside.

Aston Villa are set to announce the double deal to bring in Rory Wilson and Ewan Simpson next week. Wilson, 16, arrives having scored 49 goals for Rangers' youth sides last year while Simpson, who turns 16 next month, will move to Bodymoor Heath from Hearts in a deal worth £250,000.
