Aston Villa striker Keinan Davis could return to Nottingham Forest this summer following an impressive loan stint at the City Ground.

The Telegraph report that Villa and Forest have held talks over a permanent switch for the striker after he played an instrumental role in helping Steve Cooper's side achieve promotion out of the Championship last season. Davis scored five times in 15 appearances for the club, but after Cooper has already added more firepower to his squad - with the £17million record signing of Taiwo Awoniyi - it is unlikely that the Reds will fork out £15million to land his services this summer.

That's the price which has been mooted in reports, and ahead of Forest's first Premier League season in 23 years, Davis is a player which Cooper would like to add to his squad to boost their chances of survival. And the Villa striker has previously admitted that he'd like to return to the City Ground ahead of the new campaign.

RB Leipzig managing director Oliver Mintzlaff has revealed that reported Aston Villa transfer target Konrad Laimer is more likely to stay at his current club than play somewhere else next season.

Villa have been credited with an interest in the Austria international by the website 90min, who suggest that the club have 'made checks' ahead of a possible transfer swoop. Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are all said to be interested too, while Bayern Munich reportedly lead the chase to sign the midfielder.
