Carlos Sainz pens new Ferrari contract
Carlos Sainz will race with Ferrari until 2024 at least with him signing a two-year contract with the Scuderia.
The Spaniard and the Italian team have been working towards this aim for a while now, with the off-season seeing regular headlines that it was only a matter of time before a deal was agreed.
Indeed, both seem very happy working together and, with Ferrari kicking off F1’s new era looking like the strongest team, it makes sense that Sainz naturally wants to stay put.
Indeed, on signing the deal, Sainz had this to say:
“Putting on this race suit and representing this team is a great honour for me and I really look forward to keep enjoying our journey together.”
The Spaniard, of course, is a little off of the pace at the moment in the championship race with Charles Leclerc flying along in the other Ferrari but, even so, there is a long way to go this season and Sainz will feel he can claw himself back towards the top of the standings.
Certainly, he has the car to do so, and he admits that he feels there is still so much more to come from him within the car this season.
