Tommy Fury vs Jake Paul: John Fury issues ultimatum

Tommy Fury‘s dad has issued an ultimatum to Jake Paul by insisting they would only be willing to take the fight for ‘the right kind of money’.

Fury and Paul were both supposed to fight each other back in December.

However, Fury was forced to pull out of his fight with Paul after he suffered a rib injury in training, with Tyron Woodley stepping in on short notice as a last-minute replacement.

Fury is set to return to action on the undercard of his brother Tyson Fury‘s big domestic dust-up with former sparring partner Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium on April 23.

A win over his upcoming opponent could see his promoter Frank Warren try to rebook the fight with Paul’s manager Nakisa Bidarian.

But John Fury insists there are plenty of other options on the table besides Paul as well.

Speaking to Intu Boxing, the former boxer said: “The fella’s 10-0-1, he’s a durable character and won most of his fights so at this stage it’s a good match for Tommy.

“We’ll see what he’s got but I’m confident Tommy will do the business.

“I’m not interested in what people say, there’s plenty of business out there for Tommy without all those people mentioning it.

“At the end of the day, we’re just going to take Tommy nice and steady, if people want to box him and they talk the right kind of money and they’ve got the right kind of cheque book, we’ll speak to them.

“But you know what, there’s plenty of business out there for Tommy without all them names. If they want it, they can have it, and that’s to anybody out there. If it’s sensible, we’ll take it.”

Fury, 22, fought three times in 2021 – including a win over Anthony Taylor on the undercard of Paul’s first clash with Woodley in August.
