Carlos Corberan reveals Huddersfield Town plan ahead of four vital games in 12 days

Huddersfield Town manager says his team will be unable to train in the coming fortnight due to the density of fixtures.

Huddersfield Town last played in the 1-0 win at Hull City last week, which left them third in the table. They do not play again until the home fixture against Luton Town on Monday night.

Four days after that they will play at home again, against ninth-placed QPR on Good Friday. A trip to seventh-placed Middlesbrough beckons three days later, before another home fixture just four days after that against Barnsley, who are currently 22nd.

Speaking ahead of the fixture crunch, Carlos Corberan said: “We have had I think 11 days from the previous game to the Luton game. And now we are going to play four games in a row.

“I was talking for example with my physical staff that today was the last day of high-volume of training because after this we need to change the strategy to help us to arrive in the games the best way.

“And after the Luton game you cannot train, you can’t recover and prepare the game, you can’t recover and prepare, you can’t recover and prepare, so for me this week has been one of the last weeks that we have to train in order to improve the quality of the team and to prepare the game to the highest level.”

Luton Town are currently one place below Huddersfield, trailing by just one point. Due to goal difference, a win or a draw for Luton would see them move above the Terriers.
