Cardiff City begin their festive schedule with an early-evening kick-off against QPR tonight.

The Bluebirds were rocked just before Christmas with news they had been placed under a transfer embargo, which will no doubt have an impact on their January planning.

Despite having an influx of players, manager Mark Hudson could do with extra quality in the squad to help pull them out of the relegation mix. Without question it has been a disappointing opening segment of the season but there is still time to turn the tanker around.

The visitors have lost four of the last five games but picked up a valuable three points last time out against Preston to maintain their play-off push out.
