Cardiff City transfer news as Derby County eye Bluebirds player and Bellamy lined up by Burnley
Here are the Cardiff City headlines for Sunday, June 5.
Derby County are reportedly interested in signing Cardiff City striker James Collins.
Collins signed for the Bluebirds on a free transfer a year ago after leaving Luton Town upon the expiration of his contract. He was a player Mick McCarthy knew well owing to their time together with the Republic of Ireland team, however it's safe to say the forward failed to hit the ground running.
The 31-year-old had to wait 15 league games for his first Cardiff goal and managed just three in 30 games in all competitions. He fell out of favour under Steve Morison, though, especially when the January transfer window rolled around and Cardiff were able to pick up Jordan Hugill and Uche Ikpeazu, as well as recalling Max Watters from his loan at MK Dons.

There was always a question mark hanging over the striker's future heading into this summer, given he appears to have fallen towards the bottom of the pecking order, and it looks as though Wayne Rooney is looking to take advantage of the situation.
According to The Sun journalist Alan Nixon, the Rams are eyeing up a move for Collins. Derby, of course, are in some financial strife as things stand and they are thought to be mulling over a loan deal or even potentially hoping that Cardiff terminate his contract in order to nab him on a free.
It comes after Derby were also linked with a move for free agent Aden Flint, who leaves Cardiff this summer after three years in the Welsh capital.
