Cardiff City fan pundit gives his verdict on the future of Marlon Pack

Midfielder Marlon Pack has been with Cardiff City since the start of the 2019-20 season and has been a regular in the side since then.

This season, Pack has made 24 appearances for the Bluebirds but has moved down the pecking order with Ryan Wintle and Tommy Doyle the preferable choices for Steve Morison.

At the age of 31 now, it looks as though Pack could be leaving the Welsh side this summer, especially with his contract expiring at the end of the season.

We asked FLW’s Cardiff City fan pundit Ben Johnsey if he expects Cardiff to offload Pack this summer and he said: “I do expect Cardiff City to offload Marlon Pack.

“I think he started off the season as a regular in the side, I actually thought he started off quite well getting a couple of assists when Cardiff were up the top half of the table but when things started to go wrong under Mick McCarthy, he started to fall down the pecking order he was still in the squad but performing quite poorly.

“Then once Steve Morison came back in we hit the January transfer window and Wintle was recalled from his loan at Blackpool and ever since then he’s just not had a sniff of the side.

“It just looks like Ryan Wintle can do everything he was doing better, with a bit more pace and less sloppy at times.

“I think Pack will likely leave and then he’ll probably end up at a top half League One side next season”
