It is almost time for the Carabao Cup third round draw as Southampton await their fate after a 3-0 win against Cambridge United last night (Tuesday).
Saints booked their place in the third round of the competition with a 3-0 win against the League One side at the Abbey Stadium, with two goals from Che Adams and a goal from debutant Dom Ballard helping Ralph Hasenhuttl's men to victory.
As such, Saints will now be one of 32 teams in the third round of the competition, with the seven Premier League clubs involved in European football this season all joining the cup at this stage. That includes Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal, Manchester United, and West Ham.

The Carabao Cup third-round draw will take place on Wednesday, August 24 following the conclusion of Newcastle United’s second-round tie against Tranmere Rovers. The draw is expected to take place around 9.45pm, but will be dependent on whether penalties are needed to separate the Magpies and Mickey Mellon's side.
