Carabao Cup 1st round draw in full as Cardiff City, Swansea City and Newport County learn opponents

Cardiff City host Portsmouth in the opening round of the 2022/23 Carabao Cup.

It serves as a repeat of the 2008 FA Cup final between the two sides at Wembley in a game Pompey won 1-0. Swansea City will travel to Oxford United in the first round in what will be a repeat of the fixture which saw the Kassam Stadium outfit secure a famous 3-2 win over the then Premier League Swans in the FA Cup six years ago.

Meanwhile Newport County take on Championship side Luton Town at Kenilworth Road. Other notable ties in the southern section see Norwich City host Birmingham City while Coventry City take on Bristol City in another all-Championship affair.

In the northern section, Sheffield Wednesday face Sunderland in a repeat of last season's League One play-off semi-final while West Brom are at home to Sheffield United.
