Canelo Alvarez next fight? Mexican 'agrees' monster two-fight deal with DAZN

Mexican boxer Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez has reportedly agreed to a deal of £75 million and a two-fight deal with DAZN.

One of those fights, per a report in The Sun will be a trilogy bout with Kazakhstani boxer Gennady Golovkin.

Golovkin and Canelo have already faced each other twice before in 2017 when they drew the first one despite Golovkin out-punching Alvarez in 10 of the 12 rounds.

The result of the fight was seen as controversial, however, this led to a rematch a year later.

The rematch saw Canelo winning the contest by majority decision with the battle was named “Fight of the Year” for 2018 by Ring magazine.

In the meantime, the undisputed world super-middleweight champion has an upcoming fight on 7 May against WBA light heavyweight, Dmitry Bivol.

The 31-year-old will however step up to light-heavyweight to fight Bivol who himself is undefeated in 19 fights with 11 of those coming by knockout.

Bivol has held the WBA light-heavyweight title since 2016 having defended the title 10 times.

It is now rumoured that they will meet for the third time later this year in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena.

Canelo’s new deal could be a proposed £75 million ($100 million) and the fights are set to be promoted by Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing.

Canelo v Golovkin is not the only fight to have been rumoured for Canelo this year. It was discussed that in September he would face former WBC super-middleweight champion, David Benavidez.

However, it has been said that Canelo is ducking Benavidez who has 25 wins and zero losses in his boxing career with 22 of those wins coming by knockout.
