'Can't wait' - Fans think injured Manchester United player is about to make return following latest update

Manchester United supporters are excited and ready for Amad to stake a claim for the right-wing role after the youngster dropped a return hint on Sunday.

The Ivorian impressed during his loan spell in the Championship with Sunderland last season and hopes were high he would kick on this year. However, the 21-year-old suffered a knee injury during the pre-season outing against Arsenal in New Jersey and has not returned to action since.

While no official timeline has been released on Amad's return date, his preparation has stepped up recently. This weekend, the forward took to his Instagram to show signs he is getting close to full fitness.

In a trio of posts on his story, Amad was videoed controlling the ball after booting it high in the air and attempting a crossbar challenge at Carrington. This led many fans to believe the winger will be fit for a return this month just in time for the hectic Christmas and New Year period.

There are high hopes for Amad on his return to United and supporters made a couple of clear points on witnessing him in action on social media. Take a look at a selection of the comments below.

United fans have a particular urge to see Amad return due to the issues on the right of the attack currently. Antony endured another poor performance against Fulham and with Jadon Sancho's exile no closer to being resolved, fresh players on the right flank are understandably needed.

Amad returned to light training on Monday, October 30, as part of the next stage of his recovery after injury. Fans appear convinced he could now be close to making his full return for the Reds.
