Cameron Carter Vickers in demand as Celtic stopper 'wanted' by Southampton and Fulham as battle hots up for star's signature

Celtic may be facing a battle to secure Cameron Carter-Vickers on a permanent basis.

The centre back has become a key member of Ange Postecoglou' s side since arriving from English Premier League side Tottenham in the summer.

The loanee has impressed, and now the Hoops are hopeful that he will make a permanent move to Glasgow's east end.

Record Sport recently revealed that Celtic were edging closer to landing the defender on permanent deal, with a £6million option to buy locked into Carter-Vickers’ loan deal.

That price could rise as high as £10m with future add-ons.

But the Parkhead side are not the only ones interested in the American.

According to 90Min, Southampton and Fulham have now been added the long list of interested clubs.

It means that the two sides join Celtic, Crystal Palace, West Ham, Leicester City and Wolves in the race to sign the 24-year-old.

Carter-Vickers is not in Antonio Conte' first team plans at Tottenham, with the London outfit open to agreeing a move.

The defender has appeared 42 times for Celtic this season, scoring four goals, including one in the derby tie against Rangers earlier this month.

His form has also sparked interest from the USA National team with the star likely to be called up for the first time since 2019.
