Calvin Bassey sends defiant Rangers title message as he issues 'it's not over' Celtic warning

Calvin Bassey has declared that Rangers' Premiership title ambitions aren't yet over - and that a loss to Celtic can't define their Europa League mood.

A crushing 2-1 loss to their bitter rivals at Ibrox on Sunday leaves Giovanni van Bronckhorst 's side needing to make up a six-point gap with six games to go if they are to retain their title.

Europa League quarter-final first leg action against Portuguese outfit Braga provides a short reprieve from domestic duties before heading to St Mirren this Sunday.

While losing to the Hoops has left a scar, the versatile defender believes the chance to have a great season is still on the cards.

Semi-final placement in Europe is available and Premiership glory remains within reach, despite the daunting points margin.

Bassey explained: "You could see on the pitch that we weren't happy. But we have to put it behind us and move forward. We have big games upcoming.

"It's not over until it's over. We still have a lot to play and fight for. We will put it behind us and focus on the Braga game.

"We can't dwell on it too much and let it affect the Braga game. We have got this far and we want to go further."

Despite their domestic struggles post-winter break Rangers have been firing on all cylinders on the continent.
