Callum Brittain's first words as a Blackburn Rovers player as signing explains transfer decision
Callum Brittain admits the prospect of playing in front of the Ewood Park faithful as a Blackburn Rovers player means he can't wait for the season to start.
The right back has become the first signing of the Jon Dahl Tomasson era having joined from Barnsley and signed a four year deal for an undisclosed fee. Rovers explored a move in January and have finally landed their man.
And the 24-year-old is determined to hit the ground running and show the Rovers fans his capabilities and characteristics.
“It’s something I’ve been stressing over for a little while and I’m delighted everything’s managed to get over the line now. I’m here and we got there in the end, it feels great," he said.
“It’s an opportunity to play in the Championship again, it’s a massive club, I’ve played at Ewood a few times now and it’s always been a class environment to play football in. I hope to hit the ground running and am excited to play at home.
“I’ve played in the Championship over the last few years and I didn’t really want to drop down to League One again. I’m thankful to the club for giving me the chance to be in the Championship again. I’m excited to be here and can’t wait to get started.”
