'By far the worst' - Manchester United fans fume at defensive shambles vs Aston Villa

Manchester United supporters are raging after watching their side concede two awful goals in the first half against Aston Villa.

United reserved two Christmas gifts for the visitors as John McGinn and Leander Dendoncker put their side 2-0 up. The first goal saw McGinn’s wide set-piece float past the entire United backline and into the net.

Just moments later, another McGinn set-piece, this time a corner, was headed back across goal by Clement Lenglet before Dendoncker flicked home. Boos immediately echoed around Old Trafford as supporters began fearing the worst.

As it stands, United are on course for their fifth Premier League defeat on home soil this season. Frustrations grew when chances for Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford were missed.

Some fans were apoplectic on social media. Some even suggested they are 'done' with the club as their 2023-24 woes continued.

Should United lose their home clash with Villa they would remain in eighth position in the Premier League table. They would be eight points off Tottenham Hotspur in fourth with the north London club having played one game fewer than Erik ten Hag's side.
