'Buyers beware - Bangor City faces three big roadblocks in the fight to save it'

Bangor City FC now look to be entering a crucial few days after the club appeared for sale on a business website for an eye-watering sum.

The Nantporth outfit have seemingly lurched from one crisis to another in recent times and the outlook now looks bleaker than ever after the Football Association of Wales (FAW) confirmed that City will be expelled from the Cymru North if they fail to pay staff wages and fines before Saturday's deadline.

Formed in 1876, Bangor City has a rich heritage and in the years established themselves as one of the most storied clubs in Wales.

From numerous Welsh Cup victories to European triumphs, the club has a long history of successes in both Welsh and English football.

According to the online 'for sale' listing, a hefty price tag of £1.25 million price tag has been slapped on the club - and that fee doesn't include the stadium as part the deal.

However, given its proud place in the history of Welsh football, it is not beyond the realms of possibility to think that a potential new owner (with deep pockets) could be waiting in the wings to swoop in.

But buyers beware, a potential takeover wouldn't necessarily mean a return to business as usual in Bangor.

Anyone currently rifling through their piggy banks and thinking of putting in a bid should realise there is a stumbling block - well, three pretty big stumbling blocks actually - in any quest to bring Bangor back from the brink.

Firstly, If a takeover were to materialise the club would be unlikely to fulfil their remaining league fixtures.

That's mainly because the registration window for signing players has now closed and many, if not the vast majority of the club's players, have moved on from the club.
