Busy A4232 road in Cardiff closed due to vehicle fire

A busy road in Cardiff was closed due to a vehicle fire. South Wales Police confirmed that they were at the scene of a vehicle fire on the A4232 northbound at Culverhouse Cross.

The northbound carriageway was expected to remain closed for some time, the police force said. They also advised motorists to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible as delays were expected in the area.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that they received a report of the incident at around 12.05pm. One fire crew attended the scene.

At around 2.33pm, traffic monitoring service confirmed that traffic was easing in the area following the car fire. There had been queuing traffic on the A4232 Westbound from B4267 Leckwith Road (Leckwith Interchange) to A48 Cowbridge Road (Culver House Cross ).
