Bus and two cars involved in crash in Stockport

Police and paramedics are at the scene of a collision between a bus and two cars in Stockport this afternoon.

Compstall Road has been closed off in both directions following the collision this afternoon, with emergency services managing traffic.

Buses are currently being diverted amid the emergency response. The road is closed off near Cowlishaw Road.

Greater Manchester Police, the North West Ambulance Service and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service teams are in attendance.

The road has now reopened following the earlier collision.

Police said no arrests have been made in connection with the incident and no injuries were reported.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At around 1.20pm on Wednesday (August 14) one fire engine from Marple Community Fire Station was called to reports of a crash involving two cars and a bus on Compstall Road, Stockport.

“Firefighters worked alongside colleagues from Greater Manchester Police in making the cars and surrounding area safe. Crews were in attendance for around 40 minutes.”

Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that no serious injuries have been reported in the crash this afternoon.

A bus was involved in a collision with two other cars along Compstall Road at around 2.45pm.

No arrests have been made.

Compstall Road remains blocked in both directions following the collision.
