Burn commanding, Joelinton battles well: Newcastle 0-0 Arsenal half-time ratings

Newcastle dominated the first half against Arsenal, but went in at the break with the scores level at 0-0. The Magpies started brightly, with Callum Wilson testing the Gunngers defence in the opening stages.

United pinned Arsenal in their own half, with Sean Longstaff's cross after a flowing move just kept out. Arsenal had a chance of their own when Odegaard and Saka linked up, Dan Burn blocking Saka's effort.

Joelinton saw a near-post header deflected wide as Newcastle contined to press, without forcing Aaron Ramsdale into much of a save. Allan Saint-Maxinin then did just that, cutting inside and firing a shot which in the Arsenal keeper turned behind.

Here's how Lee Ryder has rated the Newcastle United players so far. You can follow the second half in our matchday live blog here, with all the post-match reaction and analysis.

Carrying the midfield with some pinpoint passing.

One effort well saved by the keeper with five dribbles keeping Arsenal on back-foot.

Yet to take game by scruff of neck.

Working hard on his first start in five months but yet to register a shot.
