Bryan Danielson talks desire to compete in G1
It appears “The American Dragon” is poised and waiting to step through the forbidden door as he dreams to win a prize he has never grasped in his professional wrestling career.
Speaking on the Throwing Down With Renee and Miesha Podcast, Danielson discussed that he wants to make the most of the time he has left inside the squared circle and made one of the most coveted prizes in professional wrestling his main goal to compete for, this being NJPW’s G1.
Danielson made it clear that since coming out of retirement there aren’t any dreams that he has when it comes to professional wrestling.
However, he did single out the G1 stating:
“I don’t have a bucket list, but I want to do the G1.”
The G1 or the G1 Climax is a wrestling tournament held by NJPW where the contests are bracketed and decided in a round-robin format. With wrestlers from two pools advancing in their brackets and facing off in the final for the coveted trophy.
Names such as Kenny Omega, Kazuchika Okada, Kota Ibushi, Shinsuke Nakamura, and many more are previous winners of the tournament. Could Bryan Danielson be the latest installment to previous winners if he was to take part?
