Brutal murderer who killed mum-of-two on her own doorstep jailed for life

A man who attacked a mum-of-two on her doorstep before stabbing her to death inside her home has been jailed for life.

Anthony Stinson attacked Charlotte Wilcock at her house in Primrose Terrace, Blackburn, as she smoked a cigarette outside on March 3, 2023.

A court heard Stinson kicked and stabbed Ms Wilcock to death with a Stanley knife in her hallway as her 15-month-old daughter slept upstairs, LancsLive reports.

Ms Wilcock, 31, was found dead behind her front door the following day by police. She did not know Stinson.

When police arrested him, Stinson, 31, of Queen Victoria Street, Blackburn, said he had been suffering from psychosis when he attacked Ms Wilcock and claimed to have seen the Devil.

Stinson pleaded guilty to murder and was jailed for life, with a minimum term of 24 year, at Preston Crown Court on Thursday.

In a victim impact statement, read to the court, Charlotte's mum, Carol, said: "Never in my worst dream would I imagine Charlotte had been murdered on her own doorstep. In that moment my whole world fell apart. this caused complete destruction to Charlotte and all those around her.
