Brutal Kieran Tierney injury timeline revealed as 'rupture' condemns Arsenal star who can't shake Sociedad jinx

Kieran Tierney faces up to a month out with injury after another problem was picked up in the Copa Del Rey for Real Sociedad.

The left-back hobbled out of the game on Wednesday night against Celta Vigo, which they won 2-1. Arsenal loaned the Celtic hero out to Spain at the start of the season but just like at Parkhead and the Emirates, injuries have curtailed his progress. And reports in Spain earlier this month suggested that Sociedad have already started to lean towards not making his La Liga stay permanent.

According to Jornada Perfecta, there was a "fibre breakage" which has caused Tierney strife. Scotland are not in action until March and it is a muscle issue in the hamstring issue the left-back is struggling with, as reports state that will mean being out "for between three and a quarter weeks." Boss Imanol Alguacil said: "We're going to wait for the relevant tests, but it's clear with Kieran that it's a rupture in the hamstring.

"It's a shame, because we have left back Aihen Munoz out too and it's important to double up in positions because of the amount of games we're going to have to play. But I've never made excuses and I'm not going to start now."

The news will make Scotland boss Steve Clarke sweat with key man Tierney a huge part of his Euro 2024 plans. And the 26-year-old former Celtic star has had more than his fair share of injury setbacks in his career.

Last season, he was ruled out for the campaign in March with a knee injury that required surgery. He also had a shoulder injury that sidelined for three months in 2020, groin surgery in 2019 and a torn ankle injury that kept him out for three months at Celtic in 2017. Earlier this month, Tierney made it clear he had no intention of cutting his loan spell
