Bruno Lage rocked by Wolves injury blow after scan confirms fears

Wolves have been rocked by the news that Nelson Semedo could be ruled out for up to eight weeks after scans confirmed he has suffered a hamstring injury.

The Portugal international has been a reliable and standout performer for boss Bruno Lage this season having started 23 of 26 Premier League games.

Semedo was forced off in Wolves' 2-1 defeat to Arsenal last week and he subsequently missed the defeat to West Ham at the weekend.

He was not seen on any of the club's training pictures as Wolves prepare to face Crystal Palace this weekend with Lage's side still in contention to secure European qualification.

The Telegraph's John Percy Tweeted: "Wolves defender Nelson Semedo set to be out for 4-8 weeks with a hamstring injury.

"Earliest return could be in April after the international break, following scans this week.

"Portugal international has started 23 of Wolves' 26 PL games this season. Big blow for Bruno Lage."

After a rocky introduction to life at Wolves following his move from Barcelona, Semedo has become a key figure for Wolves and his performances are said to have alerted the attention of Juventus.
