Bruno Lage faced 'harsh reality of the Premier League' to turn Wolves' season around

Nigel Reo-Coker believes that Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Bruno Lage should be getting way more credit for the job he is doing at the club.

The Portuguese tactician endured a tough start to life in English football as his Wolves' side lost the first three games of the Premier League campaign.

The West Midlands outfit bounced back impressively from those early weeks of the season thanks to some tactical tweaks from Lage and are now in contention for European qualification.

Reo-Coker has been massively impressed by Wolves under Lage, particularly after loaning "talisman" Adama Traore to Barcelona in the January transfer window.

"He's a quick learner, he's a very quick learner and he's learned the harsh reality of the Premier League," the former West Ham and Aston Villa midfielder told BBC Radio 5Live.

"It's the Premier League for a reason and you have to adapt quickly. I call it the games within the game and it goes to good coaching and management.

"The game has changed so much where you can have your style of play but as the game goes on you have to read (what's happening on the pitch) and make changes and adjust, and he's done that.

"He deserves a lot of credit, because he's done so well with Wolves. I was worried about them once they lost Traore to Barcelona, because to me he was their secret weapon, their talisman, the one who could really make things happen.

"And to let him go shows the confidence they have in the manager the squad that they've got. The results that they've been getting, they've done very well.

"He does deserve a lot more credit an recognition for the job that he's done at Wolves."
