Bruno Fernandes sends heartfelt Ruben Amorim message as Man United dressing room feelings clear
Bruno Fernandes has sent a heartfelt message to Ruben Amorim after the head coach was sacked by Manchester United. The Reds' captain took to Instagram to share a photograph of the two embracing during a training session.
Alongside the snap, Fernandes wrote: "Thank you Mister! I wish the best for you and your technical staff."
It shows just how close a bond the 31-year-old star man forged with Amorim and his coaching staff, under whom Fernandes has managed to shine through thick and thin. The Portugal international has been one of United's most influential players both on and of the pitch since his arrival from Sporting CP in 2020.
Not only the captain of the first-team under Amorim, Fernandes was also part of a six-man core leadership group alongside Harry Maguire, Diogo Dalot, Lisandro Martinez, Noussair Mazraoui and Tom Heaton last year.
Maguire also took to Instagram to wish Amorim well in the aftermath of his departure. On his account, the centre-back shared a picture of himself and Amorim shaking hands at the side-lines, captioned: "Thank you for everything boss. I wish you all the best in the future."
Elsewhere, Matthijs de Ligt also took to social media to wish Amorim well, hinting further the departing head coach was thought of fondly by his squad. He wrote: "Thank you for everything boss, good luck for the future."
The news of Amorim's departure from Old Trafford emerged on Monday morning, when United shared an official statement on their decision. It read: "Ruben Amorim has departed his role as head coach of Manchester United.
"Ruben was appointed in November 2024 and led the team to a UEFA Europa League Final in Bilbao in May. With Manchester United sitting sixth in the Premier League, the club's leadership
