Harry Maguire breaks Man United silence with Ruben Amorim message that speaks volumes

Harry Maguire has broken his silence on Ruben Amorim's exit from Manchester United. Taking to Instagram after the news emerged that the Portuguese tactician was no longer a part of the set-up at Old Trafford, Maguire shared a photograph of himself and Amorim shaking hands at the side-lines.

Alongside the snap, he wrote: "Thankyou for everything boss. I wish you all the best in the future."

It comes as Manchester United shared an official statement regarding their decision to part ways with Amorim. It read: "Ruben Amorim has departed his role as Head Coach of Manchester United.

"Ruben was appointed in November 2024 and led the team to a UEFA Europa League Final in Bilbao in May. With Manchester United sitting sixth in the Premier League, the club’s leadership has reluctantly made the decision that it is the right time to make a change.

"This will give the team the best opportunity of the highest possible Premier League finish. The club would like to thank Ruben for his contribution to the club and wishes him well for the future. Darren Fletcher will take charge of the team against Burnley on Wednesday."

At the time of his departure, Manchester United sit sixth in the Premier League standings with eight wins, seven draws and five losses to show for their efforts this season. The MEN also understand that United are comfortable with Fletcher in charge of first-team affairs for more than just one game as they weigh up their options over a permanent successor to Amorim.
